Doug Bouton, President & COO, joined Halo Top in January 2013 after Justin Woolverton (Founder & CEO) asked Doug to partner with him to help get Halo Top off the ground. Doug and Justin, both former or "recovering" attorneys, met in a lawyer basketball league where the competition was fierce (and supposedly above the rim). Doug oversees and manages, among other things, the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of Halo Top. Prior to working with Halo Top, Doug worked as an attorney in the Corporate Department of Proskauer Rose LLP. He is admitted to practice law in California and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010. Doug graduated from Georgetown University, magna cum laude, in 2007 with a B.S. in Mathematics and double-majored in Theology.
Bess Chapman (C'11) - JetBlue Technology Ventures
Bess Chapman is the Operating Principal at JetBlue Technology Ventures, the venture capital arm of JetBlue Airways. JTV incubates, invests in and partners with early stage startups at the intersection of technology and travel. Bess works with portfolio companies to create compelling value propositions for JetBlue and its partners, sources new technology and identifies emerging trends in the space. She also works on building and maintaining international partnerships for the fund.
Prior to joining JTV, Bess worked in Product Development at JetBlue Airways, where she led the content, partnerships and entertainment technology team. In this role she drove the product and monetization strategy for JetBlue’s high-speed Wi-Fi and seatback technologies onboard. Before joining JetBlue, Bess worked at several media organizations, for IBM’s business analytics consulting division and for a boutique media and entertainment consulting firm. Bess received her B.A. from Georgetown University.
Bill Creelman (C'96) - Spindrift Beverage Co, Inc.
Bill Creelman is the Founder of Spindrift Beverage Co., Inc. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Prior to Spindrift, Bill co-founded Stirrings which sold to Diageo in 2009.
Bill grew up on a farm in Western Massachusetts where all the food was unprocessed, seasonal, and fresh. In 2010, he began making his own sparkling beverages to help him kick his fiendish Diet Coke habit. He wanted something refreshing with real ingredients he could pronounce and enjoy with his young family. After much trial and error, he achieved this by combining 2 simple ingredients: fresh fruit and triple-filtered sparkling water. He named it Spindrift.
Today, Spindrift is made up of 80 passionate employees dedicated to changing the sparkling beverages. Spindrift is leading beverage into a new age of transparency and ingredient simplicity by offering no artificial sweeteners, no natural flavorings, and no essences. Spindrift was recently named to Inc. Magazine 500 fasting growing companies and 2 time recipient of Bevnet Product of the Year awards.
Bill lives outside of Boston with his wife, Harley (CAS’96), and 4 kids.
Jon DeSimone (C'92) - Bain Capital Credit
Jonathan DeSimone. Mr. DeSimone joined Bain Capital Credit in 2002. He is a Managing Director and until 2018 served as a Credit Committee member and the Chief Investment Officer of Bain Capital Credit’s Liquid Credit business. From 2002-2008, Mr. DeSimone covered the Enterprise Services and Chemicals industries and opened Bain Capital Credit’s London office, serving as its head from 2005 to 2009. Previously, Mr. DeSimone was a Manager at Bain & Company where he worked in the firm’s Private Equity Practice performing strategic due diligence and post-acquisition strategy assessments. Mr. DeSimone received an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
Amanda Eilian is a partner at __able, a boutique investment fund focused on early stage brands in the positive, healthy living space. Investments include Goop, The Wing, Daily Harvest, Moon Juice, and Bulletproof. __able has a particular interest in supporting female founders in the wellness space with their accelerator program, Wingable, and with over 75% of their portfolio companies started by women. Amanda is also the Co-Founder and President of Videolicious, an Amazon-backed enterprise video creation platform used by Fortune 500 companies like IBM, SAP & Verizon. With over 5,000,000 users in over 100 countries, and taught in over 100 journalism schools, Videolicious empowers employees to create professional quality sales and marketing videos automatically and instantly.Prior to forming Videolicious, Amanda was a founding partner of Capitol Acquisition Corporation, a special purpose acquisition vehicle (SPAC) that completed a $265 million initial public offering and closed a merger that led to the formation of Two Harbors Investment Corp., a $3 billion NYSE listed REIT (TWO) and Silver Bay Realty Trust (SBY). Amanda previously worked in private equity and mergers and acquisitions. Amanda is a Truman Scholar and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service with Honors in Economics, and received her MBA from Harvard Business School where she was a Baker Scholar. Amanda serves on the Board of Directors of Juice Beauty, the largest organic skincare brand in North America, and on the Board of Directors of the Melanoma Research Alliance, the largest private funder of melanoma research with more than $100 million in grants awarded to date. She is also a member of the Tech:NYC Leadership Council.
Devon George (B'01) - DMV Capital
As President of DMV Capital, a family office, Devon managers a portfolio of both public and private investments across all sizes and stages of business growth and maturity. He works primarily to find trends that are under-supported or misunderstood and turn those into long term investment opportunities. Most recently Devon has spent most of his time building or nurturing companies such as Prolific Interactive, Epicured(Hoya Founded), PetCareRx and DadVentures (Hoya Founded) as they worked through exponential growth of revenue, user and/or headcount. He has built & developed strategies for web, software, ecommerce & technology companies as well as assisted in creating, structuring & financing sustainable operations. Devon has held various advisory and board positions for many high growth companies often working with these companies as a consultant through his advisory business DMV Advisors. Devon graduated from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business (2001). Born & raised on Long Island, NY as a member of a happy family that enjoys the outdoors, good neighbors & making the world a better place.
Eric Woods (B'91) - Paladin Ventures
Eric Woods is the founder of Paladin Ventures, LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to identifying and assisting entrepreneurs and emerging businesses in need of strategic planning, business development, marketing & brand management and investment capital across a variety of disciplines. Eric began his career on Wall Street, first at JP Morgan as a trader in the Tax-Exempt Bond group and then at Goldman Sachs trading European Equities. He leveraged the exceptional training and knowledge received after over 10 years at these prestigious firms to embark on the path of an entrepreneur. As the CFO of NuAmerica Agency, a multi-cultural marketing and advertising firm, he helped steward five-fold growth in the business. NuAmerica’s clients included: BET Networks, Pepsi, Allied Domecq, Kobrand, Beam, Oster Products, BOOST Mobile and Royal Elastics. As the founding COO of UPTOWN Magazine, the first upscale lifestyle magazine directed towards African Americans, Eric was instrumental in the development of the business into a nationally distributed publication and securing investment capital. Always looking for ‘what’s next’, Eric served as co-founder of Bitty Foods, America’s first protein enriched baked goods company powered by insect protein. Eric also founded Harlem Vintage, a wine boutique, and Nectar Wine Bar, both of which are the first of their kind in Harlem. Eric is a graduate of Georgetown University and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business.
